Healthcare Reform meets the Chicago Way Hey – you knew where he learned the ropes. What – you’re surprised?

Another version of Waterboarding, I guess you could call it. Is this Another Backroom Deal to Force Obama’s Bill Down the American People’s Throats? Looking more and more like Chicago to me, eh?

As a vote approaches on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare, Code Red is now considering two supposedly “undecided” California Democrats, Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa, to now be “yes” votes.

The U.S. Department of Interior announced yesterday that it is increasing water allocations for the Central Valley of California, a region that depends on these water allocations to support local agriculture and jobs. The region has recently been starved for water and as a result unemployment has soared. Not surprisingly, Cardoza and Costa had a hand in the announcement:

“Typically, Reclamation would release the March allocation update around March 22nd, but moved up the announcement at the urging of Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and Congressmen Costa and Cardoza.”(“Interior Announces Increased Water Supply Allocations in California,” U.S. Department of Interior news release, 3/16/10)

Will Cardoza and Costa come clean about this apparent backroom deal for their votes?

The nation’s Catholic bishops at the USCCB and individual bishops from across the country are speaking out in opposition to the pro-abortion health care bill. They say they would appreciate a bill to improve the nation’s health care system but they can’t support one that includes abortion funding and promotion.

Late Monday, Cardinal Francis George released a new statement titled “The Cost is too High; the Loss is too Great.”

“The Catholic Bishops of the United States have long and consistently advocated for the reform of the American health care system,” he said.

But they have also “urged that all who are sick, injured or in need receive necessary and appropriate medical assistance, and that no one be deliberately killed through an expansion of federal funding of abortion itself or of insurance plans that cover abortion.”

Cardinal George complained the Senate measure “expands federal funding and the role of the federal government in the provision of abortion procedures. In so doing, it forces all of us to become involved in an act that profoundly violates the conscience of many, the deliberate destruction of unwanted members of the human family still waiting to be born.”

There are a number of Democrats holding the line here – make sure they hear from you and let them know you have their support.

We’re just not that into you, Mr. Obama.

The race for the Olympic Sponsorship Gold ended in shocking disappointment today when favorite Barack Obama failed to medal.

Obama, 48, bounded onto the gym floor to his now familiar signature tune, “Mmm, mmm, mmm”. Radiating confidence, he began his routine with the popular though low value “hope and change/change and hope” backflip.

At 6 feet 1 inch, 155 pounds and no executive experience, Obama lacks the power to pull off such stunts as the 2 1/2 twisting backflip samba favored by the gold medalist from Brazil. He compensates with “As I said before” tumbling passes, that accentuate his long limbs and rhetorical dance steps that flaunt his artistry.

Though technically perfect, Obama’s routine was all too familiar having changed little if at all from last November’s U.S. Open and the judges penalized him for it.

In the end, it was simply not enough. Brazil won the gold. Madrid the silver. Tokyo took bronze.

Remember the other evening when President Obama addressed Congress with his eleventy-th speech on health care? He was telling the nation that OF COURSE his proposed bill would not cover illegal aliens and undocumented workers.

Pshaw you say? Well, so did Congressman Joe Wilson, who in a ‘had it up to here’ moment shouted out to the President in the Chamber : “YOU LIE!”

People were aghast. Poor Joe had to end up apologizing to Obama.

Well, it turns out that Obama may be the one needing to issue an apology. “Upon Further Review” it appears that, oh shock!, the bill would INDEED cover illegals.

“The White House tonight is providing the below clarification on what the president’s health-care proposals would mean when it comes to the issue of illegal immigrants.

The question, as we all know, arises from the Wilson “You lie” outburst, and the core claim that notwithstanding specific bill language barring illegal immigrants from participating in the “exchange,” as a practical matter, there is no way of verifying the citizenship of applicants — which is the current state of play. Republicans say that then means illegal immigrants would end up being enrolled in plans — bill language or no bill language.

Today, for the first time as far as we know, the administration is backing a provision that would require proof of citizenship before someone could enroll in a plan selected on the exchange.

Here, the administration also concedes that hospitals would be compensated with public funds for the care of undocumented immigrants.”

Van Jones has resigned — as announced at midnight on a Saturday night before a holiday weekend.

Does that seem strange to anyone else?

Here’s the REAL importance of Van Jones’ resignation: it proves once and for all the genie is out of the bottle in terms of resistance to Dr. Utopia’s longerm plans for socialism in this nation.

The MSM refused to cover anything relating to Van Jones, because every crazy, racist, hateful thing this lunatic said is too reminiscent of all the crazy, racist, hateful things Jeremiah Wright said…and that Dr. Utopia, his wife, and Oprah Winfrey listened to and ate up for all those years at Trinity United.

Can’t report on Van Jones, and who he really is, without reporting on the similar beliefs held by Dr. Utopia, his “fashion icon” wife, and Lake Michigan’s own herds-of-cattle-devouring Charybdis, Oprah.

Can’t do that, now can they?

And yet — with no media coverage whatsoever — Van Jones was forced to resign, because people on the Internet caught wind of who he really was and conservatives and moderates stood up with outrage. Dr. Utopia was forced to backpedal on his plan to brainwash our nation’s school children into creepy, singing, Obots on National “Give Me Your Children” Indoctrination Day September 8th, because the blogosphere has been up in arms about his insistence of spending “quality Utopia Time” alone with small children he doesn’t know.

The Internet gaveth much to Dr. Utopia in his campaign…and now it taketh much from his presidency.

When Sarah Palin, private citizen, can take down the Liberals’ poorly conceived and amateurishly managed healthcare push USING ONLY SPORADIC POSTINGS ON FACEBOOK, despite the MSM’s best efforts to marginalize and destroy her, you know the MSM is officially irrelevant…a worthless propaganda arm of the rotting Democratic party.

The full scope of all this is not clear…but Van Jones is a turning point. It will be seen as such in time. Conservatives and moderates are mobilizing for the first time ever. They are banding together and defeating socialism, radicalism, and communism even with the MSM in full onslaught mode, working feverishly to protect Dr. Utopia.

THE MSM IS FAILING.

DR. UTOPIA IS FLAILING.

A new wave of anti-Obama memorabilia is hitting the shelves — from T-shirts to bumper stickers to buttons — as the president’s economic and health care policies divide the nation.

Popular slogans such as “Mama for Obama” have been retooled to “To the Mama for Obama — thanks for the tax hike.”

“Yes, we can” has become “No, he can’t.”

“The Audacity of Hype” has replaced the title of Obama’s popular book, “The Audacity of Hope.”

“It really started peaking about a month ago,” Amy Maniatis, vice president of marketing at the online seller Cafepress.com, told The Washington Times.

“You see it as a direct response to some of the promising messages that happened a year ago. Whereas we had the campaign of Obama centered around hope, and it was a very optimistic message, now they’re asking: ‘How’s that hopey-changey thing going?’”

The president shouldn’t worry about the protestors disrupting town hall meetings. He should worry about the Americans who have been sitting at home listening to him.

The president has a problem. For, despite a great election victory, Mr. Obama, it becomes ever clearer, knows little about Americans. He knows the crowds—he is at home with those. He is a stranger to the country’s heart and character.

He seems unable to grasp what runs counter to its nature. That Americans don’t take well, for instance, to bullying, especially of the moralizing kind, implicit in those speeches on health care for everybody. Neither do they wish to be taken where they don’t know they want to go and being told it’s good for them.

Who would have believed that this politician celebrated, above all, for his eloquence and capacity to connect with voters would end up as president proving so profoundly tone deaf? A great many people is the answer—the same who listened to those speeches of his during the campaign, searching for their meaning.

It took this battle over health care to reveal the bloom coming off this rose, but that was coming. It began with the spectacle of the president, impelled to go abroad to apologize for his nation—repeatedly. It is not, in the end, the demonstrators in those town-hall meetings or the agitations of his political enemies that Mr. Obama should fear. It is the judgment of those Americans who have been sitting quietly in their homes, listening to him.

The fear on the street is palpable. Ever since the election of Barack Obama as President of these United States in November 2008, coupled with the election of a democrat party majority in both the U.S. House and Senate, concern for the United States and personal safety has ignited like a fire in dry grass.

Sales of guns – black guns, rifles, shotguns and handguns (particularly 9mm) everywhere, have gone through the roof. AR15s have literally flown off of dealer shelves, and only now in the spring of 2009, have I seen the display samples of ARs begin to reappear on the wall of my favorite shooting emporium after the initial post election rush.

Manufacturers of ARs are still working to catch up and some of the major suppliers are as much as 150,000 guns behind. Not only that, ammo is in the shortest supply I have ever seen in the 43 years of my shooting life. Have you recently tried to get 5.56mm, 9mm or even 380 ammo?

Supplies of 5.56mm and 9mm ammo are in short supply due to the black gun buying craze; .380ACP because of the rise in people getting concealed carry permits and the resurgence of interest in convenient 380 handguns like the fine Ruger LCP. In fact, in doing a review of the Ruger LCP, my gun store only had a small supply of ONE .380 round on hand, the Winchesters 95-grain SXT, which they had just gotten in. Unfortunately, I had to do a 30-round review of that pistol. There was none other to be found.

What is odd about this new fear is that it is not coming from the average citizen gun owner out there, but it is coming from what to me is an almost shocking source: street cops…….

………First, fear of federal government intrusion into our lives. Every time I look at or listen to the news, there is something new and intrusive coming out of the Obama administration and this Congress. New tax schemes, government-run Canadian-style healthcare, a volunteer citizen defense force (whatever that is, what happened to the National Guard?) equipped with funding similar to our military, forced voluntary “service” after retirement, a lack of a southern border with hordes of illegal and criminal aliens pouring over our border, the swine flu scare as well as government forced closing of thousands of privately held Chrysler and GM dealerships, which will be the final nail in the coffin for these companies and the list goes on and on.

But these items in the news are just the tip of the iceberg……..
